We all have thousands of purposes and goals to meet every year, as if suddenly time stops and the previous 365 days disappeared completely to start from scratch. Although you know that that is not possible, somehow your mind helps you think that you are closing a cycle to start the next. A good Idea is to make yourself a list… Why?
Can you believe Christmas is this weekend? nether of I, I hope all of you are ready for this big day. I refuse to wear only pants in the winter time and to put away my dresses, after all most of the time you are inside or just have to walk from the car to get inside. I Found this lovely black dress for this special occasion, and Because is cold outside I grab my cape from Top Shop to make my outfit.
December for me is a special month, is the beginning of the end of a year, the time to think and look back in what you have achieved this year and to ask your self if those new years resolutions, make sure all of them have a check marked. December is time to be with the family and your very close friends. A time to be thankful and share with those in need.
I have lived in st Louis for almost 14 years, being away from home has been a great experience, perfecting my English, meeting new friends which I now call family, adapting to a new lifestyle, the list could go on… Time goes by quickly, I still remember when I came to this city, which was still very austere, I use to miss the city lifestyle, but St Louis has grown very much. Big Corporates have arrived and new Companies were born. One of my favorite is Soft Surroundings this company was born in 1999 in St Louis. Soft Surroundings is dedicated to the busy stylist women and to remind them how special they are. One still has to put themselves first on their priority list. I am celebrating with them this 11th Anniversary. I want to say Thank you for making your dream being about thinking about us as Women, mothers, working women of all ages. Along with this celebration I would love to share one of my favorite places in the area, New Town, St Charles. A place that makes me feel like I am somewhere away from the city but also a place that reminds me of good friends. I decided to wear my flare jeans and my colorful top on my last visit there. But what really made my outfit was my New bag from Soft Surroundings a One of a kind Bag, trendy, artsy very unique that I know it will stand out.
Thank you Soft Surroundings.
Caleres FEC is days aways and The finalists are ready to show video presentations and live pitches, I had the pleasure to interview one of the finalist Chrissy Fogerty, Fauxgerty.
Founded in 2013 by designer Chrissy Fogerty, Fauxgerty is a collection of cruelty-free threads with an emphasis on recycled elements and local, ethical production in STL, LA and NY. We are committed to our cruelty-free mission. Turning hide into leather wastes energy and water, uses chemicals to unnaturally halt decomposition, and is harmful for both animals and humans.
Turns out, much like your Aristotle-inspired intuition suggested, vegan leather contains no animal products (or by-products there of). In theory, vegan leather is in fact faux leather simply by a different name. As vegan-friendly options pop up throughout our nutritional decisions, the fashion world has brought the buzz word over to the historically animal-cruel industry making faux anything seem cool again.
1.What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
My greatest strength, I hope!, is my desire to operate a very healthy work environment and maintaining positivity. It is really important to me that we accept any issues that arise and move forward. Especially in fashion, production schedules and deadlines can get quite stressful. Maintaining a positive outlook is crucial in ensuring we have a happy work space.
My biggest weakness is my sometimes quick decision making. I am pretty decisiveness, and with that, I can make decisions without enough forethought. It’s my never-ending-lesson of learning to slow down.
2.Where do you see yourself in next ten years?
In the next ten years, I see myself feeling confident and well versed in my career. I don’t have a concrete future vision for Fauxgerty, but in ten years, I think I will feel proud of the journey I have experienced. I hope I continue to enjoy experiences with my husband and family with lots of big Italian dinners and frequent travel.
3.How would you relate past and present fashion trends?
Fashion is such a cycle, so old preferences usually repeat themselves. I think people feel a connection to a piece that has a stylistic component that harkens back to a memory. This connection is strong, even if it is out of date, and when married with modern updates, it presents itself as a trend.
4.How did you select the materials you used?
We are constantly researching the market for innovative materials and we ensure each material we use follows our mission. Beyond being cruelty-free, we prefer fabrics that have a sustainability focus, whether its recycled, made in a Certified Green Factory, natural fibers or utilizing low impact dyes.
5.What were your inspirations for the designs you created for this line?
Our Fall 2016 collection was the first step in evolving beyond outerwear. We wanted a smooth transition, so we can remain brand loyal, while still growing and evolving. We focused on vintage, classic pieces we all love, but updating with a more contemporary feel. These pieces are simple in their style, but thoughtful in their construction – and I feel like we really achieved all of these goals in these garments.

One of the things that I love about St. Louis is its weather, just being able to enjoy the change from heat to a cool morning is priceless. We all have to agree that we all love the transition and we all are looking for the day to start wearing that cozy scarf and light sweater.
As a mom of 3 I’m always looking for activities for my teenage kids and having family time. Hay rides are a must for us, Eating, laughing, riding the fun ride, and for my kids the fun part of it is to make fun of their mom (Me). I admit I do not like to ride any carnival rides and they enjoy making me do it. I guess I’m getting used to this. I’m sure that since they have fun riding it they want their mom to feel the joy of it. We visited Eckerts Farm, I love the change from the city life to the nature and fun. It’s just 30min or less away from the city of St Louis, and you can breath the country atmosphere. I was amazed how my kids forgot they had a cell phone and I noticed them using it only to capture a snap for the memory or sharing with friends. Our time their flew, we were having such a good time. We went on rides, watched pig races, went on camel rides, and played mini golf.
Sitting at a table to eat some delicious carnival food, and waiting for the sun to go down and enjoy our bonfire. I was so amazed in how everything was so original, it was the perfect scenery for it.You can not leave Eckerts without riding the famous Haunted hayride I was so afraid to do this but the kids convinced me to do it. We had a blast and it was perfect, I can tell you all about it but it will be cheating,
you have to experience it yourself. Oh and don’t forget to stop on your way out and buy some jelly and apple cider just to mention some of their famous items at the country store.

It was a little hard trying to figure out how to title this post. Feeling proud? Patriotic? Missing Mexico? can be a lot of options, But for sure I had to say it with the colors of my flag. Being away from Mexico is not easy but also it has been a total journey, having the opportunity to emigrate to this wonderful country has give the opportunity to find my passion, Its great gastronomy and culture, Culture that makes Mexico unique, we are very passionate people, and most people might think that our passion is futbol (soccer) But in reality our passion is our family, always looking out for each other. We wouldn’t let a week pass without calling your mom or a sister. Sombreros, Tequila and tacos is not just Mexico. Mexico is great people that do not fear coming to another country and working hard to learn a second language. Entrepreneurs start new businesses yet never forget where they came from. September 16th we celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day. If you want to celebrate it with me make sure you wear lots of colors at the same time, lots of necklaces, bracelets and color on your face, that is Mexico. Viva Mexico!!
I don’t want to forget to thank Elena/ www.cheetatalksymas.com for sharing this with me and following my craziness ideas.

Fall Season is here so bring out the fall colors. You’re all agreeing. but this doesn’t mean dresses and open toe shoes have to be gone. Orange is a bright color one of my favorites in fact, you just have to be careful when ever you wear it, make sure to accessorize a bit because the color is speaking for itself already.
Dress: Top Shop
Handbag: Kate Spade
Watch: Michaels Kors
Shoes: Banana Republic
Here we are again planning our Summer family trip. I won’t lie, I love the beach, anything that includes a fun dress I’m in. But this time we decided to do the opposite of what we usually do,we decided Colorado. As a fashionista the fist thing that came to my mind is Work out clothes, hiking boots, and neutral colors. Immediately we decided to start our journey. We are a family of 5 so we all give ideas of what we would like to do. Colorado has a variety of things to do and things to explore. And with living in the midwest, (The Plains) where you don’t see mountains, it is breath taking to wake up and look at the view. Hiking was part of our plans and an easy way to experience the amazing view.
Local restaurants and local art is a must of a trip. Breckenridge Co. a very picturesque ski resort full of shops, restaurants, bars and surrounded by hills that in the summer time became the perfect spot for mountain biking.
In Colorado Springs we visited The Garden of the Gods which in the name says everything, this place is lovely and you can contemplate how nature did its job.
Eating, walking, hiking, and more eating and making sure you snap the most moments you can was part of this amazing trip, #getoutandexplore
